About
I am Eric Allyn,
founder and CEO of Allyn Enterprises.
While never receiving a formal Architectural degree or license, I spent seven years as an apprentice to Architect John Silverio in Maine, who trained under one of the godfathers of American Modernism, Architect Louis Kahn. Our work was heavily focused on a highly-creative, structurally-driven, unique approach to geometric, shingle-style architecture. This experience was formative, and this one-on-one classic architectural apprenticeship training prepared me for the field with exponentially more depth than the route of typical schooling, and always with a clear foundation of art in the process.
From there, I blazed my way through this profession with genuine perseverance, relentless hard work, the gift of raw talent coupled with artistic versatility, precision standards, and a dynamic architectural understanding merging with a unique development capability.
I have worked in practically every style, type, and scale of architecture and the widest spectrum of construction techniques from north to south – from cabins in the woods to high-rises in Florida. I am skilled in wood-frame, steel, or concrete design, and have always pushed the envelope of all construction methods into new ways of creating original architecture. A trademark of my career is a long history of dealing with incredibly complex sites and constraints while still finding an avenue for innovative design to flourish. I come with an unparalleled spectrum of experience, and the intense detail and design control I offer is at a level of precision rarely sought after in this field. Additionally, I have an aptitude for landscape design, interior design, graphic design, and marketing cultivation. This skill set ties together the integrated awareness to maximize a streamlined development process. Merged with my architectural standards, this enhances the ability to perform with a depth of clarity in multilayered, complex situations. On top of all of that, I have made a career of leadership through inclusive teamwork to accomplish project goals. My unique ability and instinct to see development goals with a mathematical lens, starting at inception through turnkey, and continuously improving the performance of project numbers, is invaluable to the development groups we partner with.
The truth is, I am truly passionate about this work. My work is engrained in my lifestyle, and every day, without exception, I live and breathe architectural vision, design, and development as art forms. To me, everything we create is art…not just the building design itself, but the development process, the mathematical systems we use to refine the designs, the team-building, the marketing campaign, the ability to inspire the community, to create era-defining projects, and how the whole system is intrinsically linked together – Everything is Art. I am dedicated to using my skill set and gifts to contribute beautiful, thought-provoking, significant, life-enhancing architectural designs to the world. Whether that is a specialized residence, a retreat center, or a high-rise development, being involved with projects of meaning is the mission. I have a full understanding that to achieve this, numerical goals must be met, and have created the mathematical systems that can be calibrated to drive the design for the most optimal results, all relative aspects considered.
Design defines project results. Investing in the Design Development process and an integrated Development Service is the path to achieve those results with success.
What I offer to clients, organizations with a vision, investment groups, and other developers seeking partnership, is the missing link…a service that not only bridges the disconnect and increases the effectiveness between architects and developers, but most importantly maximizes the integration of the entire creative process with a deep mathematical acumen that utilizes data-driven design, oversight, and leadership. I look forward to engaging in meaningful projects that have an inherent vision and mission to improve our communities, our experience, and the world at large.
I look forward to connecting with all who are on a mission-driven project path.
